In my opinion no. I was constantly worried about violent crime and active shooters, the cost of childcare, private school university, home prices, healthcare, and nursing homes.
I worked too much and there was never enough money.
I simply do not need to worry about any of it since moving to the EU.
Taxes are different everywhere. Figure out where you want to go then worry about taxes. Generally you will pay taxes where you live. Then you file a return in the U.S. if you will take a tax exemption or credit depending on your finances. Most people do not owe in the U.S. when living abroad because generally taxes are higher in other developed nations.
