Male (30) Wife (29)
Americans with 4 children.
We’re looking into dental schools for my wife to attend and eventually work as a dentist. American education is extremely expensive so we’re exploring our options. We’ve done limited research on most of the EU and Italy is one of our top destinations right now. We’re learning the language and finding information where we can. English speaking university l is a priority but not a must- Does anyone have any advice regarding the university process of admission? Any resources or websites are welcome. Very motivated to research this out best as possible.
Oh man the job market in Italy is way worse than Ireland.
Bulgaria. Very cheap but good quality education. Maybe in English too.
I Have a friend from Bulgaria I’ll ask her more details thanks!
You’re 30 and have 4 kids!?!?!?!?!?
Also I’d really recommend that you look into what an international degree would mean for your wife if you ever want to go back to the US. I’m not certain for dentistry, but for medicine it is not easy and often requires re-doing residency. While you may not think you want to return, things can really change in 5, 10 years due to life.
You really need to do a lot of research to understand not only the educational systems in various countries, but also what employment options are after graduation as well as (obviously) immigration and visas.
If the only reason you are looking to leave the US is tuition, I would investigate scholarships. There are lots of options out there especially if you are willing to live in a more in need area so to speak, but it does require some leg work on your part.
