Does anyone else have the experience of being in a relationship where you’re from different countries but you met and started a life in a third? And then you tried to live in either of your home countries but your relationship somehow works better when you’re in a third country?

Or am I alone in this? It’s a very strange existence.

I think it genuinely depends on the couple. If a partner doesn’t make one feel excluded, then there’s no reason to feel the need to be in neutral territory. Also, it’s great to have a partner who knows the ropes in their home country already, making the family transition easier. That’s my take on it, obviously people will have varying opinions.
