I’m in Britain and I really hate the eyelashes, fillers and makeup here for young girls sometimes and the intense pressure I see everywhere to get them. Poor girlies.

Canada - they don’t have a drain in the toilet. (Not in the shower, the actual bathroom itself)

I was baffled at first and wondered how I would hose down the bathroom to wash it… Wipes didn’t seem clean enough to me.

A mop is never going to be as clean as water and soap. We also hose down the inside and outsides of our toilet bowls instead of wiping them. The dirty water drains into the drain, then we go over with clean water.

Wait a second, are there people who hose down their bathrooms?

You evacuate in the toilet bowl & then flush. You take a shower and the water&filth go down the shower drain. What else do you have on your floors for you to need to hose them down?

Also… Wipes? What do you do with wipes? Do you mean to clean your ass? Not the floors, right?

Is that why you want a drain in the bathroom? To hose your ass? Can’t you get into the shower to do it?

Is sweeping and mopping not a thing in your culture? I’m so confused, but I find it amazing!

Do you know how dirty a bathroom floor can get? Sweeping and mopping is just gonna spread all that dirt around no matter how many times you do it. It’s like using tissue paper and a wet cloth to clean dishes instead of washing with water and soap…

We hose down the bathroom, use a long floor brush to scrub the floors with cleaning detergent and then hose it down again with clean water. All that dirty water goes down the drain.

Having a drain in the bathroom floor is great! It took me some time to get used to it, but now I have to move back to my home country and have completely forgotten how to clean a bathroom with less water and also how to be careful to not splash water around…It’s just so satisfying to scrub the whole bathroom and then rinse it with the shower head.

Yes! Coming from a culture who wash and scrub the entire toilet (including the tiled walls for a deep clean), only being able to wipe and mop the toilet bowl, floors and walls don’t feel clean enough to me.

It didn’t help that my apartment in Canada had mosaic floor tiles. It was a huge pain in the ass to actually get all the dirt out of the grout lines.
