A mop is never going to be as clean as water and soap. We also hose down the inside and outsides of our toilet bowls instead of wiping them. The dirty water drains into the drain, then we go over with clean water.

Do you know how dirty a bathroom floor can get? Sweeping and mopping is just gonna spread all that dirt around no matter how many times you do it. It’s like using tissue paper and a wet cloth to clean dishes instead of washing with water and soap…
We hose down the bathroom, use a long floor brush to scrub the floors with cleaning detergent and then hose it down again with clean water. All that dirty water goes down the drain.
Canada - they don’t have a drain in the toilet. (Not in the shower, the actual bathroom itself)
I was baffled at first and wondered how I would hose down the bathroom to wash it… Wipes didn’t seem clean enough to me.
Yes! Coming from a culture who wash and scrub the entire toilet (including the tiled walls for a deep clean), only being able to wipe and mop the toilet bowl, floors and walls don’t feel clean enough to me.
It didn’t help that my apartment in Canada had mosaic floor tiles. It was a huge pain in the ass to actually get all the dirt out of the grout lines.
