I pay $10 monthly and I get a US number from an area code of my choosing with VM, call forwarding, messaging, etc. They have browser and mobile based apps you can log into, and it’s very easy to use. You can easily block numbers and set DND business hours as well. If you already have an established number, you can port it over to their service.
The service is categorised as a VoIP number though, so 2FA-SMS verification can be hit and miss. Call quality is consistently good though.
