But best of luck to you! I’m a TCK Filipino who went to uni in France. Maybe try the student route? Canada has it’s own set of problems atm but I’m sure you’ve heard it offers the path of least resistance from student to PR.

I’m from a poor but lively country in Asia and went to uni in Paris. I’d never been more depressed in my life than in those three years. You’re absolutely right, it’s probably one of if not the most beautiful city to visit but living there is a whole other beast, especially if one is used to loud, vibrant, tactile cultures. If I were ever to move back to Europe, Portugal/Spain would be my only choices.
Great list! Pleasantly surprised by Budapest too. Gorgeous city especially at night. I’d also add Kyoto, Kanazawa, most Italian cities, Split, Granada, Cusco, and Cape Town in the same sense as Rio.
