How bad was the smoking in public spaces? Was in South Eastern Europe and literally left a lot earlier than expected because there was no oxygen, only nicotine and it smelled unbearably gross everywhere

Please enlighten us, entertain us with an example or two please but based on personal experiences please. I know Italy’s demographics are even worse than Germany’s, every second person in Germany is a 60 year old granny
100% on point, hidden bs non-existent rules everywhere. Do you have experience with german divorce courts? I had this on and off German gf that got drunk at Weihnachten and told me that the good news is if we ever get married, she would be entitled to half of what I have. I was really shocked and taken back by this
The person in Germany is on drugs, US is light years ahead in every category except beer
Germany hands down one of the most Assbackwards on the planet
Having an EU husband should ease the bureaucracy and make it possible to settle in and enjoy life.
Germany least efficient, a nightmare is more like it even by crazy American standards
Yes same thing with Germany. I completely agree
Exactly 3 months visit first
Don’t move to Europe in this case at all, it is a bit shitty at the moment, especially in Germany. People are miserable robots and housing in the Netherlands is just as bad as it is in Germany post pandemic and this Ukraine bs. Instead book a trip for 3 months to Holland or wherever in the EU and see if you can live there for three months with your husband without any issues. In the US you have a lot of conveniences that you won’t find in the EU, like banking. Banking in Germany is ass backwards, that is if they even let you open an account. They will lock accounts by accident, horrible customer service, no one cares, etc etc etc … you have to wait for letters to be mailed for months. I know an immigrant working in an ICU and 2-3 months there he’s still waiting to get his bank account but that’s in Germany. Holland might be a bit better but housing there is a mess also. Give it a shot for 3 months and see but don’t sell your house in Texas.
That Italian citizenship will come in super handy in Germany
Learn German and you’ll connect with people, that’s the easy part. The harder part is the Bürokratie
Just like in Germany, both very lazy and incompetent. I sincerely hope you don’t ever have to deal with any of this bureaucracy again, it makes it hard to get anything done
