Don’t feel guilty, it’s not your responsibility to look after all these other people. It is the awful system in your home country that doesn’t support them.

As a tip, if you open an account now with one of the big High Street banks, such as HSBC NatWest Lloyds, et cetera. When you leave the country you will have more options as they also do expert mortgages, and you might be able to work something out with them.
It’s just an idea, you would need to explore it .
