I just wanted to say that I get you! We are an expat family and we moved within the new country after a few years in one city. The new city is a few hours away from the old, so there’s no quick visits we can do.
My kid is still quite sad about it, she’s still not in kindergarten (waiting for a place) but I recently found a letter that she wrote with the nanny, saying that she misses her old friends and inviting them to the new house. She put it in the mailbox and when I found it I sobbed.
It’s hard for everyone to move and I do believe that is hard for little kids as well. But at this point we have to stick with our decision and hope it will all work out in the end.
Hugs to you, I’m sure it will get better but I understand how hard it is now!
What’s the best way to support them when going through a move?
