Never lived in UK, I imagine dating culture is fairly similar to other Commonwealth countries in which I’ve lived.
Firstly whose broadcasting that they’re Eastern European?
I’ve had opportunities to work in Romania before, my impression of the culture is it’s somewhat toxic. I’ve met nice people from Romania in the singular, but I’ve always had bad experiences with them as a plural. There’s also some weird commonality about Romanian women that I found off-putting. I lived there for 6 months when I was in my early twenties and never dated anyone, I remember giving up at some point in the initial courting stage several times due to this feeling.
I also remember the pervasive ignorance that most people (myself included) had/have towards the country of Romania, because of Gypsies.
We can commiserate when an American born in X is accepted as an X.
