Where in the US are you? Also raised in the Middle East, then worked there, and Europe, total of 34 years. Miss it like crazy but I’m American and in my current situation I need to be in the US. Been in the states a while and it hasn’t gotten better. As an expat I always advised people to give it a year, experience the seasons, etc. the only thing that’s gotten better is familiarity. I don’t get lost trying to get from A to B anymore and I’ve figured out doctors, hairdresser, etc. but it feels less like home than anywhere I’ve ever lived. Sorry I’m not more uplifting.
