Seems like it’s a well known fact that being poor or even middle class (if that will even exist anymore) in the US disposes one to a very low quality of life (e.g., living in areas with higher crime rates, bad healthcare, the most obvious being cost of living, …etc)

On the flip side, what are some reasons why the top 1-5% percentile would also want to leave the US? (e.g., taxes/financial benefits, no longer aligning with the culture? I would assume mainly the former)

If you are in the top 1-5%, is living in the US still the best place to live? (as many people would like to suggest)

    Currency conversions favor those with dollars, pounds/euros. For $150 000 you can buy a place close to the beach in a developing country.

    Crime is a global issue so it’s not that you can buy safety the best is to find a community where people have each others back. In developing countries most home owners are armed to protect themselves because the police are useless. Investing in cameras, electric fences and burglar bars may be needed.

    Healthcare coverage has to be bought and it covers (full dental, eye and body) it’s not separated like in USA. Food overseas 100x better. In price and flavor profiles. Quality food and variety that is affordable. The cheap food just means pay better tips cos the locals don’t get paid well. I like to tip above the standard. People are always warm and deserving of their tips unlike in the west where it feels like extortion. Especially when server wasn’t great or rushed!

    What do I love about developing countries. They have REAL freedom! There’s no 11pm Park or beach Curfew(common in the west cites in USA) , no one tells you to leave the beach at night or no one tells you to not ride your horse like a Mongolian warrior in the fields or sign a waiver. There’s an expected understanding that respect for nature is needed and the locals are aware… don’t swim in the dawn because of sharks (some foreigners don’t obey the laws of nature and get taken down)…. They don’t go and kill the poor animals because it did what it does. Unlike USA they will kill The wolf, the alligator or the bear because humans chose to disregard their environment and existence. Individual responsibility is understood. Have respect for the ocean and nature and live off the land not against it.
