Some cultures are very gregarious and lively. They like loud music, speak to each other loudly, etc.
Which cultures have you found to be more reserved? Not necessarily cold or rude, just not as loud in public?

Have you been to France or are you French to publish this statement ? It’s 100% false French people are loud.
I’ve lived here for a few years. Am not French myself. Maybe it’s a regional thing. I’d say it might also be relative as the other countries I’ve lived in are known to be particularly loud but people are genuinely very quiet in public here. They practically whisper in indoor public spaces.
It doesn’t sound like you visited the south of France though :) ‘cause I have to say the contrast with your description is sharp (I prefer quiet tbh, but that’s not how it is there)
I live in the south, I’ve barely been anywhere else for more than a few weeks at a time.
