Hey guys! I was planning on visiting a few countries in the EU, and I realised it’s a lot of work to plan and execute everything by myself. I was wondering if I should take some sought of a tour package from a tourism company? And if so, any suggestions on which tourism company is better? I’m currently based in Stockholm.

Thanks in advance :)

    Want an honest answer?

Don’t even think about taking a tour for something like that. Just finding different companies which will cater for your requirements will take just as much time as doing it yourself. And it be will damn sight more expense with a tour operator.

This is what I would do if I was in your shoes.

    1. have a rough list of countries you want to visit.
    2. book a cheap one way flight to the closest one to Stockholm.
    3. book a hotel/hostel a day or two before you fly. Only got a couple of nights and then extent if you like it, or change hotel if you don’t.
    4. read up on what to do/see in said country/City. Takes a couple of hours of Googling.
    5. enjoy new country/city. If you like it, stay longer than planned. If you don’t, then move earlier than planned.
    6. rinse and repeat above steps for next country.

I’ve done this for several months, across several continents, multiple times and its the best way to travel. I’ve made temp friends along the way, fallen in love, and cried on the airplane as I’m leaving.

    Best way to live.

    Good luck.

There are TONS of travel blogs and resources that can guide you. Figure out where you want to go and do some research. Do targeted google searches like “14 day trip Germany, France, Italy” or whatever you want and most likely someone has blogged about it on the internet. Look at Lonely Planet or Rick Steves (he’s targeted for an American audience, but has TONS of content on Europe). https://www.ricksteves.com/europe

Another option is to borrow and tailor itineraries from places like this: https://www.responsibletravel.com/ They give detailed itineraries, but like another person said, aren’t exactly what you’re looking for. If they’re already giving me an itinerary, I’d much rather rearrange it how I like it, rather than have to explain what I want, go back and forth with a travel agent, and pay more for something that is already mostly done for me.

Something like this can easily be edited to reflect the time you have available and what you want to do: https://www.responsibletravel.com/holiday/4084/berlin-to-venice-small-group-holiday.

Try chatgpt. Ask it to prepare the entire itinerary for you. If it gives you too much detail ask it to narrow it down. Ask it to fine tune the plan for you i.e. I don’t like religious places/buildings so I would ask chatgpt to not suggest me any churchs/mosques in the cities I plan to visit.

I think this would take around 30-60 minutes.
