Yes she can. Can get a guest house for $300-400, a motorbike rental for $80, eat at cheap warungs for $1-2 a dish. This doable even in Canggu.

Bangkok is downright pleasant if you stay next to a BTS stop.
You get used to it after a few years. Still hot as fuck but somehow you stop noticing it.
