I’m from Canada, still living in Canada, and I feel the same at times. For me it’s the opposite, because the one’s I feel that I can really vibe with have already left. Maybe I’ll join the ranks of a traveler one day soon ;)
But I do get where you’re coming from - I want to go elsewhere to be immersed in a different culture & setting. If I ever grow tired, I’ll come back here instead of complain about another country’s way of life. Because it isn’t my place to do so at all.
Puerto Escondido was incredible when I was there. Everything was quiet close, with the exception of one excursion that was a 30 minute to 1 hour drive away.
