I’m sorry this happened to you. But France is really a bad choice for expats, also bad for families with kids. Perhaps you could have gone alone for a couple of months first? I hope you find a better job very soon.

I have to agree with all you said. I tried Paris and it’s definitely not a place I’d live in long term.

Besides the countries you mentioned. I think Czech and Andorra, and Malta are good options. With around 10-15% tax. But of course you need to do more research.

Airbnbs are very pricy to the point that it doesn’t make sense to me anymore.

I think 2 months is the max they can do. Not to mention how tiring will camping trip this long be.
