For 12 years, I went annually. Tickets were cheap and I could go for long weekends. Then we moved to NZ and I haven’t been back since then. Been back to my 2nd home country once since moving to NZ.

It’s cost and time rather than anything else. Travel time alone is 3 days. Then tickets for 5 and my annual leave for the year is approx 17 days.

Eh, there are micro aggressions. My biggest issue is denial. You’ll hear statements like NZ is not as bad as US, UK, Aus, etc. To be honest, we’re not really seen. I’m African, btw. Have lived here for more than 6 years with my 3 brown kids all under 10.
