1mo is not a lot of time, even if you are in a very desirable field (eg tech engineer) or niche (fintech) so apply apply apply. Belgium Swiss are 2 I can think of. UK Ireland are another 2

Laying out all the expense of relocating yourself has made you out of pocket for a lot. It’s a little crazy you paid $6K to relocate the pets too but it’s where you’re at. Ask the HR people of the French co what compensation you may receive for the move. they must have some sort of compensation for you moving abroad on the promise of a job

I would really cut my losses and everyone move back to the US if I or my spouse can’t find a job in the EU to transfer the visa
