Japan is a no go. It would be tough to find a rental with no roaches. I saw them in each of my apartments. Since I had my house built though, I’ve been spared the terror. Most hotels would be fine too.

I live in Aomori (since 2018) and I really haven’t seem that many bugs. I’m from Alaska for reference so my tolerance for creepy crawlies is extremely low.
