I’m interested in experiencing what its like to live abroad. But you can’t always find job opportunities from the home country. I was wondering, how difficult is a “shotgun move”?

4,5 years ago my ex partner and I moved from China (we are not chinese, we just used to live there) to the Netherlands. We had 4k euro for two, no jobs no house, not a single friend. Was super scary but surprisingly everything worked out. Even tho we split up, both of us are doing really good. I have a job and make a lot of money, much more than locals, bought a house, have savings, investing etc, not sure exactly how he is doing but last time I heard he was also doing great. I don’t know why and how but I had luck in every single step of the way. There is an insane house crisis in the netherlands and yet i managed to find a place in 1 day, i hear stories from expats who spend years without a job and yet I landed one after one interview. Sometimes things just happen, really. Don’t underestimate luck
Wow. What was your degree and previous field of work?
