Hey guys,

Anyone who was able to open a bank account using a Digital Nomad Visa in Malaysia?
I am trying to open it now most of them are asking me a letter from the company (my company is outside of Malaysia and some of them even tell me that, the company has to be registered in Malaysia). I asked my company that docs, will try it tomorrow again, but it would be nice to knowledge on someone who was already open an account.

I have Wise account, but to cash out I need a local bank account. Also, Wise is only allowed to store 20K MYR (I opened Wise using a Malaysia VISA).

If you have a visa that allows residency, you can get a bank account.

    That’s true for all countries.

Some may accept the Visa itself as proof, some may require you wait until you get your actual residents ID.

Try some different banks, maybe ones focused at younger people.

Making an account at ENDB in Dubai is annoying, since it’s “old school” and wants all kinds of paper. Meanwhile, Liv, ENDB’s own “millennial” bank can open an account on a mobile app in 10 minutes.
