Hi I’m a 19 F from Mexico. I have recently moved to Canada for university. My parents aren’t really satisfied with my decision as they really wanted me to London although I reallly disliked it. I mainly chose Canada for a couple of main things.

  1. University (I can study whatever I want in UofT.)
  2. Film industry - you have the Toronto Film Festival, a lot of good film schools such as Vancouver Film school and Toronto film school, and there were about 4 movies and TV series shot in my campus.
  3. I liked Canada better than the US, which is why I didn’t choose to go to CalArts or UCLA (I also just don’t like California)

I’m thinking I made the right choice but are my parents concern right? I

It is your future, so you get to decide. It’s not like you chose to become a drug dealer instead of going to university. Not sure why it matters to them that you went to one developed country instead of another.

I live in Canada and also studied in UofT. Fun and good university and all that. All is good until you graduate and get a job. Taxes are higher compared to US and salaries are significantly lower.
