Hi guys, title says all. I’ve been waiting for such a product for YEARS, literally:

  • There are 15.6", 16" and even 17.3" touch monitors
=> So it’s not a matter of touch panel size
  • There are 1080p, 2.5K and even 4K touch monitors
=> So it’s not a matter of touch panel resolution
  • There are 15.6" touch + battery monitors that last for many hours on battery, and 16" is very close to 15.6"
=> So it isn’t a matter or power draw
  • A 16" 2.5K Touch monitor can weight as little as 0.9 kg. With a battery it would be about 1.1kg. Less than a 17.3" Touch monitor.
=> So it isn’t a matter of weight

For some weird reason, NOBODY is making a 16" 2.5K Touch + Battery monitor. We can get 3 of these four features, but never the four of them. This situation hasn’t changed a bit for the last four years.

I wonder why, and I’m growing increasingly desperate here. Any hints? Thank you.

Because you’re the only one that wants it and making a niche product for one DN isn’t really how a business works.

Of course. Lots of people want 15.6" portable touchscreens (given the large number of models currently being sold), but nobody wants a 16" one. Why didn’t I think of that?

Did you even know that 16" is the replacement for 15.6"? Which is why more and more laptops are going to 16" instead of 15.6". Same width but 16:10 instead of 16:9.

Next time think a bit before posting.

Find a factory in China that’ll make them for you and start selling them 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Fill the inefficiency

Lenovo Tab Extreme has a USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode INPUT

Also a great tablet on its own.

    Only a grand…

This might be the wrong forum for the level of discourse on monitors that you’re attempting to have.

Technology is definitely already there, although battery life would probably be shit as the amount of pixels is almost triple than 1080p.

My best guess is that the 3 things are still considered “premium” features, the end price of such a device would be not very accesible. Also, given the responses and upvotes of the fellow DNs (who would probably be the main market for such a thing), it seems that the demand isn’t very big.

If you definitely need this right now I would search for a 16" touch and a power bank.

I’ve been looking for an 18.5" 2k screen too! I’ve only seen one, which is a 144hz gaming monitor, I just need a 60" one but a higher resolution is so valuable for screen real estate
