I think I’ve reached my breaking point here in the US. I have a fantastic job and lovely friends but this economy right now is killing me together with the remote area I live in. I think moving back home (EU) would be best for my mental health and overall quality of life BUT

a) I’ve spent my entire working years in the US so I’d have to start from zero back home which is very daunting but not impossible. All my degrees are either from the US or the UK, both are in legal fields so not really applicable to my home country.

b) I’m doing everything by myself. Whilst I have a lot figured out already, my biggest concern is the need to rely on a car for transportation. I have no problem selling my car but how long would I have to have a rental for? A week? Two weeks? Longer? I live away from bit of a ways away from friends so I don’t expect them to pick me up/play taxi all the time

And it doesn’t help that I’m an anxious af person in general 😆

yeah, moving back to the EU sounds like a solid plan for your mental health and quality of life. starting from scratch can be overwhelming, but you’ve got experience on your side. as for transportation, renting a car for a couple of weeks should give you enough time to figure things out. good luck with the move!
