Which countries have a general attitude of gratefulness and appreciation in that sense? I especially mean about work/career/business rather than personal life.

    Japan. Although it wasn’t long the respect shown for my knowledge and abilities was truly nice for once.

      From my experience in Japanese junior high schools, teachers efforts aren’t appreciated. They’re expected to work and then volunteer probably 3+ hours everyday unpaid. It’s expected. If you did your job and went home at your contracted finish time, you’re seen as lazy.
