I am a US citizen, my husband is a Korean citizen, and I am applying for my son’s US citizenship.
I understand I need proof of residence in the US, but most of my years in the US were during my childhood. I also have my university years and one working year in the US as an adult.
For the CRBA, must you have proof of residence for your childhood years? Like do I need to contact my preschool, elementary and middle schools for transcripts?
As an aside, I was born abroad to a US citizen father, never applied for a CRBA and just applied directly for a US passport via the local consulate. The paperwork was similar, of course, but the consular staff said that applying directly for the passport was faster and less problematic. I don’t know whether it may be the same in your case.
