First of all, I am so glad that the 3 month visa is back.
Secondly, I am simply stuck on where I want to go.
I have been agonising between Sapa, Da Nang and Da Lat.
If anyone has had long term stays in these areas, I would love to know about your experiences.
I’m someone who tends to either live by myself or lives in a homestay so I can really immerse myself.
Sapa would honestly be my first choice, but I worry about the WiFi.
*Also if anyone has any apartment buildings, homestays etc they want to recommend, I would appreciate it :)
Near to Da Nang, I stayed in Hoi an for longer time. Good Cafes, Eateries or Supermarkets when I wanted to self cook as my food options are limited as I am vegetarian + allergic to few oils and Cow milk.
definitely some of the best Japanese and Italian restaurants near the beach, pretty work friendly and unlimited Cafe options when I was in a mood for a change.
Only place I’d stay long term is Saigon but I loved the Cao Bang area.
Cat Ba!
I did 3 months in da nang. Its very nice and balanaced, with mild chaos and calm, but if you want to keep it more authentic, stay away from the beach area and stay on the side closest to the mountains aka the north side of dragon bridge. There are many russians , koreans and westerners in general near my khe, an thuong etc and so it feels very touristy. However, da nang is epic, amazing food and so many good things to do like hiking, swimming, night markets, hai van pass, you can do a weekend up to hur, hit hoi an etc. Plus the internet is good. Rent a bike and explore.
Hi, did you stay there solo? How difficult is it to meet local people and form connections there?
I did. Locals, it depends on if you speak vietnamese or not. Expats very easy.
