Hello I’m moving to Canada through a working holiday visa in a few months and I’m still undecided about which city to go. I’ve only visited Quebec City and liked it but I didn’t feel safe in the centre of town. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which cities I could look for because I feel I might be overlooking some places because I didn’t do enough research. I’m bilingual French/English so it doesn’t really matter to me to live in a Francophone area. When it comes to work I’m a web dev but I’m assuming I’m gonna have a hard time finding a job in that economy so I’d say I’m pretty open to do anything really, even go back to school. My worry is mostly that I won’t have a car right away and also that I want to live in an area I feel safe in and transportation is also safe. Thanks for help <3

Unfortunately Canada isn’t what it used to be as far as opportunities go. Everything has gotten so expensive and the problem is most of the work is in the major cities so everyone has to commute there. Toronto traffic is really bad some people spend most of their lives just sitting in their cars. Life in Canada is just work, pay a shit ton of taxes, it’s a monotonous routine. I suggest that unless you are living in extreme poverty or your life is in imminent danger not to come here. People are cold here and there isn’t much sense of connection. Then people wonder why we have a mental health crisis going on.
