My wife and I have used a UPS box in our native California for years, after being assured it was considered a physical address. We were contacted by our bank recently, telling us that this is no longer the case, and we need to provide a valid physical address. What are our best options?
Use a PO Box for mail, and your last residential address for “residential address”.
This has happened to me as well. Brokerage not bank in my case but they all fall into AML/KYC laws. You are almost certain going to be asked for at least two things to prove residency like a recent utility bill with your name on it and a lease or something else that proves physical residency. This may make it extremely difficult to fix. I also have a a PMB, I now only use it for mailing address. If you have a physical international address you can prove then try the State Department Federal Credit Union. They do accept international physical addresses. You can join the American Consumer Council for free which will make you eligible for an account.
