Hey!
Just out of curiosity, what would be the most accepting country for skilled workers (PhD level in IT/Tech) for expats (originally from the EU)? When I say accepting, I mean countries that provide work conditions/low bias or discrimination towards expats, that allow one to eventually become a director/CSO/CTO in a company.
Currently in Norway and I’ve been loving it. This is the place I want to call 2nd home to and I believe that once I master the language, I’ll be 90-95% integrated within the culture, but I’m afraid I might miss work opportunities due to personal bias in the workforce (which I’m aware exist pretty much in every country) towards expats.
Other key factors for me would be quality of life/salaries and safety. I’m aware that Denmark has a lower GDP per capita, higher taxes and similar cost of living as Norway, but are salaries easily comparable with Norway despite higher taxes? Sweden seems to have a big issue with shootings largely due to their immigration freedom and salaries aren’t that much more attractive compared to other EU countries.
Thank you!
